Today, the Ministry of Education received several items as donations from the Digital Technology Group and Regal Stationery and Document Centre.
The items were handed over at the Ministry’s 26 Brickdam Office and were received by the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand on behalf of the Ministry.
The Operations Manager of Digital Technology, Ms. Jennifer Persaud handed over 30 electronic tablets to the Ministry while Ms. Telesha Ousman Manager of Regal Stationery and Computer Centre handed over 50,000 face masks, 36 sanitizer dispensers, antibacterial wipes and over 36 litres of hand sanitizer.
Minister Manickchand thanked the companies for their contributions and said that they are timely. She said that the items will go a far way in ensuring the safety of students and teachers particularly as secondary schools, Practical Instruction Centres and TVET Institutions have reopened for face to face learning.
She said that the Ministry of Education looks forward to furthering collaboration in the future to ensure the development of the sector for the benefit of all Guyanese.
